Moi-Meme box, is one of the only subscription boxes that I use, other than Latest In Beauty, and I’m always excited for when it’s due. It is a quarterly subscription box, delivering mindfulness and beauty goodies, selling at £54.95. In all of my Moi-Meme reviews (read the latest here) I always mention that the price is steep, however as you’ll realise quickly below, for what you receive, the price is nothing in comparison. The reason that I’ve always liked this box is because you can cater it to yourself and make it personal. When you sign up you fill in questions from your favourite colours and scents, to your initials etc for personalisation. This little touch really makes it for me!
* Moi-Meme kindly also offered me a discount code for anyone interested in signing up. I won’t make any money from this but I thought that it would be nice for anyone who’s considering joining. You know me, I love a discount. You’ll get £5 off with SOPMOR5 *
THE REFRESH BOX / SPRING 2019
The theme for this box is all about Spring coming, and everything feeling fresh and brighter and livelier. I love that each box always has a theme and ties together.
ELLIE BEAUMONT WATCH / RRP £69
I couldn’t quite believe it when I opened the box and saw this. I’ve seen Ellie Beaumont’s Watches on Instagram for years and always admired them from afar, this was really such an amazing gift and an instant standout of the box. In the leaflet accompanying your box, it shows all the available colours and you are able to swap, however this is the perfect one for me. It’s so pretty and great for Spring, and I really wasn’t expecting this. Moi-Meme’s collaborations seem to get better with every box! I love the rose gold features, as with everything in this box, it’s very Sophie!
UPCIRCLE COFFEE FACE SCRUB / £13
Up Circle is a brand that I’ve never heard of; this is what I like about subscription boxes, it introduces you to future brands that you may love. Up Circle use 100% natural ingredients, and all of their products are made from used coffee grounds and brewed chai tea spices from artisan coffee shops around London. I was gifted the Floral Scub, however there are other options available. The Floral one is best for sensitive skin and is made with Chamomile, Rosehip, Geranium, and Patchouli essential oils. It smells absolutely divine and I can’t wait to try them. I’m not always a massive fan of scrubs but I’m really excited to try this, especially as it’s good for sensitive skin!
MOI-MEME CANDLE / RRP £8
Moi-Meme have launched their very own candles, and they don’t disappoint. I received the Limeleaf and Ginger candle, it’s not something that I’d normally go for but it smells divine. It’ll be perfect for our bathroom once we’ve moved in. It smells so fresh and bright and clean, it reminds me of fruity sherbet that’s perfect in time for Spring!
MOI-MEME NOTEBOOKS A5 / RRP £5
Moi-Meme has also released it’s own new notebooks! I received the ‘Warm marble’ version however as always there’s plenty of other options available. I’m a massive notebook hoarder and always have been. The only downside for me is that it isn’t lined, but that’s purely a preference thing, and there’s always someone in my family who’s looking for a notebook!
MIA COSMETICS LIP BALM / RRP £15
Again, a brand that I’ve never heard of. MIA is a cruelty free cosmetic brand, that focuses on animal welfare as well as eliminating toxic and harmful ingredients normally found in makeup. Whilst I personally would never spend £15 on lip balm, I love getting sent something that I’d never buy for myself, such as the Beaumont watch too. It’s so moisturising and perfect for the ever changing weather, with ingredients like: Shea butter, argan oil, and monoi butter it proves it’s luxury. I love the lipstick design too, I think it’s a real treat.
LAVOLIO NUTTY MINI EGGS / RRP £6
Lavolio is a female founded business, selling luxury and homemade confectionary, and now operates from a boutique in Parson’s Green. I don’t know how much I can write on chocolate but this was so delicious. It contains toasted almonds in dark, hazelnut, and white chocolate and it was delicious.
WAS IT WORTH IT?
For a box retailing at around £54, the contents of it all retail to a total of £116! Getting you over double what you pay for. I understand that it is a pricey box, and it does perhaps cut off a large part of its audience especially when some boxes like Birch Box retail around £10, however I believe that it really does stand out in the luxury that it provides. You get full sized items, receive far more than you pay for, and everything feels handpicked and catered to you. It’s definitely a unique box, I loved the theme and was so surprised by the product standards. I’m really excited for the next one!
All my love,
