The best feeling of the year is January the 1st when you feel magical, like it’s a whole new slate, another chance at a successful year, and you’re inspired and motivated to make the most of every second. You all know what I’m talking about. But then one week later when we haven’t instantly met our fitness goals, or we ate the cake we promised we wouldn’t, or text the guy we said we’d leave behind in the previous year, we just drop it. We say, we’ll its ruined now and just give up. But here’s the thing, it doesn’t have to just be January the 1st where you can inspire yourself to give life your all. It can literally be any time of the week, month, year.
Here’s how I do a Sunday reset, and inspire and motivate myself to have a productive and successful week!
TIDY ROOM, TIDY MIND.
I hate to say it, but it’s true. Declutter those drawers that have been on your mind for weeks, empty that overflowing bin full of makeup remover pads, make that bed. Once it’s done, it’s done and your room feels motivating and clean and it takes so much off your mind, giving you less to do for the week ahead, and giving you a space that feels ready to work, rest, and play in.
Reply to those emails that you’ve been meaning to since Wednesday, text your friend from the office back about the Christmas party that you read and then definitely didn’t get distracted by Instagram instead… Make yourself a latte and get rid of those notifications. Clear out your social media, as you would your room. Give everything a new fresh slate.
PlAN THE WEEK AHEAD.
Plan ahead your successful week. Reflect on the goodness from the previous week, and what you can do better. By writing it down, you have a 63% chance more of actually getting it done. Plus it’s an excuse to have the cutest notebooks. (Also ticking things off is super satisfying).
RECHARGE AND UNPLUG.
Sunday is normally the end of a long week, if you want Monday to be a rise and shine kinda day, you need to give your body and mind a good old rest and recharge. Take some time out, have a warm shower, make a cup of tea, and de-stress from the week before. It’s also good to put your phone down and have a mindful break from the internet, and some real self-care time. I love to go for an evening walk without my phone and really try and lose myself for a little bit. Then when it’s time to sleep, you can drift off knowing that everything is set in motion to have a happy and successful week!
Have a wonderful rest of the week and let’s all have a brilliant Sunday!1
